Ouch! My hand really hurts!

I guess I'll start by thanking everyone who showed up for A&G. I hope you all had a good time (I know we did). It seemed to be pretty hectic for a while, but it turned out to be even more fun than last year. After a few minor scheduling errors, everything went off without a hitch. All of the other guests had a good time as well... maybe even too much fun (but we won't get into that... lol). Here's a picture of some of the guests at the last autograph session...

From left to right: Eric Ferris (Nerdfit), Jay Kidd (Um... me), Chris Patton, and D.C. Douglas (as for where Troy Baker was for this picture, that's a mystery we may never solve)

As you know, we promised an "exclusive surprise" at A&G on our Twitter last week.... Well...we had an new premier video at our panel on Saturday! We'll have that up on the site and YouTube late this week with a little something extra from our new pals at Nerdfit (if you were at the Con, you probably already know what this is). On top of all that, we hope to have some new screenshots that even the people at A&G didn't get to see yet! Just keep checking in all this week for some mind-blowing news and exclusives that'll really make you want to PLAY HARDER!

Wow, what a long nap... Any leftovers?

Well, hope everyone had a nice Snacksgiving... I mean... umm... Turkeyday? I know that our last post wasn't exactly the happiest, but if you remember, I had a few bits of news up my sleeve... Well, here they are:

Last March we had managed to wrangle up a table at A&G Ohio's Artist's Alley... They must have liked us so much that they've decided this year to give us official "Guest" status! Seriously, check it out: http://aandgohio.com/GUESTS2.HTML#WRAITH (We're at the bottom of the page for the time being, and they might be making some changes to our bio as the convention comes closer.) Anyhoo, like last year, it's going to be held at the Holiday Inn in Eastgate, Ohio (where were you expecting, Michigan?) Pre-Registration is only $25 until January 1st. You can order online here: http://www.aandgohio.com/BADGES.html. We'll have more info about A&G soon, so keep your eyes out.

Moving right along... We had planned to post some new screenies and video, but there'll be a bit of a wait on those as our own development PCs can't handle the tests with full visual effects turned on yet. Yes, the game is sooo pretty that we developers can't even run it fully yet! Heck, we could post some of the middle-ground screenshots, but trust me, it'll be way more impressive with all the visuals turned on. Seriously, they're well worth the wait!  We'll be making some hardware updates very soon, so be patient...

Until then, try to stick in there and maybe pick up a good indie 360 game like Experiment 12 on the Arcade. That game is awesome, but no matter how hard any of us try, we can't seem to find who actually made that darn thing... the developers don't even have a website, blog or even a freakin' Twitter that any of us can find. It's an amazing game, man it's really something that made me: Play Harder... See what I did there?

You Win Some, You Lose Some

Hey everyone, I have a bit of bad news: GamePro Labs (the indie publishing arm of GamePro Magazine that was scheduled to launch Physix) had closed down. Yeah, it's pretty much how it sounds... This means that they will NOT be publishing Physix (or any other game by, well... anyone!) and we will most likely not be featured in the January issue of the magazine either (unless big business starts to give away free full page spreads, that is). It was quite a shock to me and the rest of Wraith to get the phone call today. It's kinda like finding out that your friend has been in a car crash or something. I must assure all of you that Physix will still be launched, but it might take a bit longer than we had anticipated. We'll soon be in contact with Steam, Impulse, D2D, GamersGate and a few others to try to find a good distribution method in the following months. Who knows, this may work out even better in the long run anyway.

On the lighter side of things: We have nearly finished development on Physix and should be entering BETA soon. We'll have some screenshots and a new video up soon and I know that you'll love them. We've added some new graphical enhancements, media assets and gameplay elements that we can't wait to show off!

There are a few other announcements, but I'm gonna have to keep those under my hat for now... at least until things have been finalized, that is. I'll hopefully have those out later this month, so keep your eye out, stay sharp, and remember to PLAY HARDER!

Quickly everyone... to the Mandatorium!

Hey everybody! Just here for the mandatory periodical updates (yes, that's right; not only do I have no choice whether or not to write them, but you must read them as well). Well, we've been working on a new demo for Physix, and hopefully an accompanying video (if all goes well) that will truly show off the unique features and stunning graphics of our first commercial endeavor. With that being said, I'd like to take this time to thank each and every one of you for your dedicated fandom even through the more, um... let's say, "interesting", business decisions we've made in the last few years (like hiring a full team of zombified lawyers).

Enough about the past; time to move on to a brighter future. And by "bright future" I mean "games so awesome they'll make your mother's brain explode*". We even have plans to revive one of our older titles for commercial distribution. First, though, we have to make a new demo to present to GamePro to ensure the project's continuity. Not saying which title it is, but we assure you it'll be awesome!

That's a while off, though, and our full focus is currently on Physix. You can check out our Labs page for some updates and feature announcements. We'll try to keep you all updated with Twitter, MySpace, YouTube, and Labs posts (and some S8G too) so none of you are left out of the loop. Keep your eye out, stay sharp, and remember to PLAY HARDER!

(*We here at Wraith Games do not condone the exploding of anyone's mother's brain. Seriously, that's such a waste of a perfectly good meal!

Yes, You're in the Right Place

If this is your first time on this site, you probably think that the header of this post is rather odd (and if you keep reading other posts, you may just find the author rather odd), but I assure you that this isn't some sort of mind reading game... or worse, some sort of marketing ploy.

The fact of the matter is that, this site has had a complete makeover (of sorts). We have found, through marketing research, that our old site (may she rest in peace), was too unruly, unprofessional, unattractive and a bunch of other "un" words... So, we scrapped her for this sleek, more "industry standard" model. Yeah, pretty shallow of us, I know, but it had to be done. Especially with the upcoming release of Physix and our increased traffic from GamePro and Section Eight. The navigation is primarily the same, with a few more bells and whistles thrown in for good measure.

I'd also like to congratulate Pseudo Playgrounds (a fellow GamePro Labs developer) on the completion of their iDevice title, aptly named: iArena. It looks awesome and I personally can't wait to get my hands on it. iArena has even been featured in last months issue of GamePro Magazine and at risk of loosing customers, I hope all you Wraith fans try it out as soon as you can. Best of luck guys!

That's about all I have for now, but I'll keep you all posted when anything comes up... See you soon!

Two Big Announcements

Well, if you know anything about gaming communities, the first announcement won't be anything new to you: Wraith has opened up a new BETAing program with Section Eight Gaming (s8glive.com). If you want to participate in the program, all you need to do is join, which is completely FREE! It's sorta like playing our games before they come out!

The second is a little bigger and more awaited: Physix has found a publisher in the new arm of GamePro Magazine: GamePro Labs! After a lot of talking and a little paperwork, Wraith has worked its way into an exclusive, online distribution contract with the newly founded publisher. This opens the doors for many marketing and promotion deals for our little company. We will have news posted on the game itself both here AND on their blog along with exclusive screenshots on GamePro's site. You can find our page by clicking on their link at the right.

These are big changes, but it's all for the better. Bettering us betters our games and better games means that you can PLAY HARDER!

Yup, it's a video!

(We suggest "High Quality" to get the full experience)

Physix Demo #1
From FileFront

We have a booth at A&G Ohio

Yep, that's right... OUR FIRST EVER CONVENTION APPEARANCE!!! March 13-15 at the Holiday Inn Eastgate in Cincinnati, OH. There will be a booth, but we're not quite sure if it's in the Artist's Ally, Dealers Room or somewhere completely random! Now, your probably asking yourself: "Why go to a con without a product demo?" Well that's because we aren't! We will have a fully operating demo available for FREE play at our booth, so come ready to game! Tickets are $30 for the whole weekend at the door (Pre-registration ends on March 1st) and hotel rates are as low as $93, but they're filling up fast. Hope to see you there and don't forget to sign our guest book!

Our progress report

Well, even though Zion is on hold for now, Wraith hasn't thrown in the towel just yet. In last post we made, we announced our new game; Physix. Just to clear up some confusion, that IS NOT the real name of our newest title. It's just a little code name to keep the real title under wraps. It seems that unlike Project: Zion, production of Physics is coming along very smoothly. We have been working non stop on it and we just might have a demo of it in a few months. Just keep your fingers crossed and hope for the best.

New look, same Wraith

Your eyes are not deceiving you... This IS the Wraith home page! We did a little web work and this is what we got: a whole new view! If you notice, the site navigation hasn't changed much, you guys shouldn't have too much trouble finding your way around. Hope you enjoy the new look!

Good news and bad news

Well, it seems that once again, Zion has some more delays. So many in fact, that we are putting it on hold indefinitely. Yes, we know that we have put it on hold for a long time, but we are facing a lot of difficulties in development. It will be out, just not any time soon. But we do have some good news to counteract the bad:
The announcement of a new title - Physix! We aren't going to divulge much about the plot, but expect the game to live up to its title. We don't have a release date as of yet, but expect it on the PC some time soon.

Project: Zion to use Torque

Wraith has just started to use the Torque Game Engine! Torque is a cross-platform game engine for Windows, Xbox 360º, and Nintendo Wii. While we have no intention of developing for the Wii, you have all probably guessed the decision to port to the 360º! This is a big step, but it should open our games to a whole new set of gamers. Be prepared for the horror coming to a home console near you!
